Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Texas

My brother lives in Florida and has some financial trouble.

The debt collectors have called me in Texas trying to find out where he is and how to contact him.

Do I have to tell them anything, and can my brother sue the company for disclosing personal financial information (ie - he has an unpaid debt) to me.

You don't have to tell them anything when they call.

When I get unwanted phone calls (from salesmen, for instance), I pretend that I don't speak English, and start using Farsi or Greek. Drives 'em crazy.

Your brother can't successfully sue you if you give them information, as long as you tell the truth.
