Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Texas

Dogs

I bought two dogs. One was given to my mother and I kept the other. My mother took her dog to the vet and told her it had parvo and the owners new the whole time. IT died. I took mine in the same day and two days later it died. Then I had a dog before i purchased that one and a week later it died. In total I spent 2000 dollars including medical bills and what i had paid for my dog. The dogs that i had purchased came with a 3 day health guarantee. I had taken them on the 3rd day. I want to sue them for 3000 dollars, 2000 for the bills and 1000 for the mental pain. Do I have a chance or what can i do.

Re: Dogs

Gather your information and proceed in small claims court. You will need to bring the vets that treated the animals to court with you. You don't have to have an attorney (it's optional). Bring as much documentation as you can get (canceled checks, receipts for the vet bill, receipts for the animal purchase), etc. Judges have a tough time with mental pain claims, but the underlying claims should be easier.
