Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Texas

A well known Houston plastic surgeon's office allowed an office assistant to use laser pulse on my face. It left two very slight scars that the surgeon has acknowledged. The scars are permanent and untreatable. We have worked together to treat the scars over the last 6 mos. with no luck. We are still on good terms. I owe him a demand letter for damages but do not know how to assess damages. Please help!
