Deferred Judification
My son was arrested for burglary of a vehicle when he was 18 years old in 2002. He took Deferred Judification. He was sentenced with 1 year probation and 100 hours of community work. He is now 21 years old and is trying to sign up with the Air Force full time; the only problem is we were told that on a background check; if this is on his record-the Air Force will not take him. We checked, it is on his police record. What can we do? He really has his heart set on serving his country through the Air Force Branch; where his brother is also serving as a reserve.
I was told he could not receive a pardon because of the Deferred Judification. We were not advised before hand that this would go on his record. Any information that you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

In some cases you can petition with the court to seal the records regarding a deferred adjudication. DO you have the papers when he agreed to deferred? What county was the case in?
