Legal Question in Personal Injury in Texas

my father was killed in a train collision My sister & I sued the railroad...she was offered $15,000 more bc of my past history. It should of been settled evenly correct? I think my sister is the one who has cheated me- since day one she has manipulated me& has taken pretty much.everything she wanted of our fathers. How can one sibling be given more of a settlement on "there fathers" passing?

What your sister took from your father's estate is no relevant.

I do not know what your 'past history' was.

Whatever it was, your lawyer or the lawyer for the railroad must have thought this issue would affect your ability at trial to be a credible or sympathetic witness to the jury.

You should ask your lawyer why there was more value placed on your sister's claim during settlement negoiations.
