Legal Question in Personal Injury in Texas

Injured at my apartment

I live in an apartment complex and had several areas that needed repairs. I notified my apartment complex approximately 4 weeks that my smoke detector in my sons bedroom was malfunctioning, my light was out in the stairway, my dishwasher had quit in the middle of a cycle and the most important was the ceiling in my bathroom waas leaking water, they fix the smoke detector but nothing else, I notified them on two other times and nothing. One morning when getting up to go to the bathroom I slipped and fell from water from the ceiling that had covered the floor sometimes during the night. I hit my head and my back on the floor as my foot went out from under me. Is the apartment complex liable for my injury?

Re: Injured at my apartment

It's possible to go after the apartment complex. However, I would need to know some more information before I could give any advice:

1. Were the prior complaints of water leaks from the roof?

2. How often did this happen?

3. When did you make the complaints?

4. Were the complaints in writing?

5. Did you have to get treatment for the slip and fall?
