Is there a law where you are unhappy in your working environment, that you could be laid off or transferred to another area/

Texas is an at will employment state. Unlike a right to work state, a private employer can terminate you for any reason except those considered discriminatory under federal law such as age, sex, race, disability etc. This would include terminating your existing position and offering you a different one.
