Legal Question in Personal Injury in Texas

Is it necessary to have PIP attorney?

I was injured in accident 8 days ago, have not been able to returnt o work, serious migraine type headaches, car still in drive because other insurance company not responding quickly at all. I can't sleep because of the headaches, stress, anxiety issues because I'm not able to work, meds prescribed effective, but nervous about taking them. I was not at fault in the accident. The other driver hit me from behind and they received a citation. Is it absolutey necessary for me to look for a PIP attorney for this situation or can this be handled on my own?

One can handle most legal matters on their owne but lose many benefits. Most attorneys will obtain more than an injured party collects for themselves..call us if you wish to discuss..no fee to talk..

Re: Is it necessary to have PIP attorney?

You can do this yourself, but don't expect fair treatment from the insurance company. They are already playing the delay game. They use this to their advantage all the time.

In your case, they are hoping that you delay going to a doctor until you talk with them. They will later so you weren't really hurt because you waited. This is one of the most common tactics.

If you have an attorney, your attorney can navigate the system for you, help you avoid these traps, and make sure that the insurance company does what it's supposed to do.

Most (if not all) PI attorneys will give you a free initial consultation, myself included. During the consultation, you can find out how the system works and what an attorney can do to help you.

Please feel free to call me if you wish to discuss your case.

Re: Is it necessary to have PIP attorney?

As the other attorneys have said, it's not necessary, but you will certainly get a faster response from the insurance company if you have a lawyer. The insurance company will never give you the full value and will want to settle quickly--remember, once you sign a settlement with the ins. co., you can't go back and ask for more later. For example, they may offer you a small sum of $500, but three weeks from now, your doctor may say you need an MRI or further treatment--this would certainly exceed $500. Each ins. co. is different--it really depends on who the adjuster is and what your injuries are. We have dealt with all of them, so feel free to email if you have a question. We're located in Houston.

Re: Is it necessary to have PIP attorney?

If you knew you needed surgery, would you consider doing it yourself? Handling a personal injury case with an insurance company is no less complicated and no less important to you. To answer your question with all due respect, you would be foolish to try to handle this matter on your own. Hire someone who has done this successfully for thousands of clients before you. If we are not successful in your case, you pay nothing. Please call me today.

Re: Is it necessary to have PIP attorney?

Based on what you have written, you can always handle the settlement on your own. Remember that the insurance companies are in business to make money and therefore, generally will not offer you alone what is fair and reasonable to compensate you. To ensure that your rights and interests are protected, you should seek the assistance of a multiple attorney law firm who deals with these types of legal issues. It appears, from what you have written, that you might have a good cause of action and supportable damages that the guilty party should be made to pay for or at a minimum the guilty party's insurance company pay for. If my law firm can assist you with this legal issue or any other legal matter, please contact my legal assistant Jennifer ([email protected]) to arrange for a free initial consultation.
