PIP is received for medical bills and, therefore, your attorney is reluctant to release the PIP funds to you before the case settles. If he sent your son to a chiropractor or doctor, then he probably promised to pay the chiropractor out of funds recovered from your son's case. So, the PIP funds are likely promised to others who have a superior claim since they should be rightly paid for the medical bills that generated the PIP payment. Your attorney is right to hold the funds for the chiropractor pending the outcome of the liability claim.

Nonetheless, if you paid any medical or prescription bills out of pocket, he should reimburse you now for such expenditures.
