Legal Question in Personal Injury in Texas

Suit Filed Against Me
Back in March of this year, I had an accident I was involved in an accident. Of course I notified my insurance agency and soon I recieved a letter from the other parties attorney explaing that they were their representatives. My insurance company told me not to communicate with the other party that they would work through the lawyers for a settlement. I was informed by my insurance company that the matter had been settled. Just today, my wife showed me in the local newspaper that a suit for motor vehicle damages has been filed against me.

How is this possible and what recourse do I have. I have yet to be notified by the other parties lawyers on this new legal action.
