Legal Question in Personal Injury in Texas

Vehicle Damage

On a Saturday I came in to work and when I left the building I noticed my vehicle as well as others in the parking lot was covered with some kind of water mildew/algae all over it. They were cleaning the A/C units with a pressure washer and the mist from the windy weather got it on the vehicles. I made a report with security to have on file. That same day I took my car to get washed at a car wash and it still did not come off completely. The paint and the plastic moldings etc. still had the satins and did not come off.

I spoke with the person in charge at my company and they sent me to a car wash company that they take their company vehicles and said tha they will pick up the tab. I took it in today and left it but the owner of the car wash was not really sure on how to get it all off and if the plastic molding can be cleaned. If this is the case, how and what can I do to get my vehicle back to the original state it was in prior to this incident? And will this involve legal action against my company?

Thank you in advance

Re: Vehicle Damage

if you are not able to obtain satisfaction by trying to get this resolved with the cooperation of the building management people and/or the cleaning company, it would seem that you will have two choices:

1. pursue a small claims court action against the responsible party. you are entitled to seek damages that reflect that cost of repair or the loss of value if the vehicle has sustained permanent damage; or,

2. File a claim with your auto insurance company. let them pay for your damage and then they could seek reimbursement from the building manager or the cleaning company.

i hope this helps. bill featherston
