Judgement

How does someone selling a house find out if there is a judgement against it or if the judgement that is against them will be taken out if the house is sold?

Re: Judgement

If there is a lien on the house, it should be filed with the county records. If there is a judgment against the seller, and the house is not a homestead, then the judgment (if properly abstracted) would attach to the proceeds. I strongly recommend that you hire a title company to research the title of the house before continuing.
