Is primary residence subject to payment of medical debt?
Parent, moving to Texas, will purchase a house.
Parent intends to title home in only child--name removed--name to avoid potential future medical debt.
Is primary residence subject to payment of medical debt in Texas?
Thanks
Re: Is primary residence subject to payment of medical debt?
No. Primary residence (if designated as homestead) cannot be touched by creditors unless the debt relates to the house.
