Does a quick claim deed for a single family property need to be recorded to be valid? If so, how long after date of execution - notorization? If not, can it be recorded anytime? Smith County, TX thanks

Yes, you have to record it.

Don't worry about time limits for recording it - just get down to the County Clerk's office NOW.
