Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

I am a renter, the house I am renting does not have central air conditioning. We are in Texas heat and going without air is not reasonable. The wall unit in the living area is too small for the square footage. It does not cool well, and thus makes our electicity bill skyrocket. Do we have a right to demand a proper unit?

It depends on what your lease says. If your lease doesn't address it, you should buy a new window air conditioner and you can take it with you when you leave.
