Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

My sister and uncle both inherited a house from my grandparents. The house is now in my sisters and uncles name. My sister wants to sign her portion of the house over to me since I will be living there. How do we go about putting the house into mine and my husbands name and leave my uncles name on there but take my sisters off?

Your sister can get a lawyer or title company to draw up a deed for her share. Typically I charge $100 for such a document, so you'll have a point of reference. Recording the document should cost around $20.

You first have to clear title from the grandparents. Then sister can deed her portion to you and your husband. Don't do this yourself. A title company or real estate lawyer should be able to do this for you at a reasonable cost.
