Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

transfering names of property

My aunt and uncle own two land lots that sit behind my house, they have agreed to give them to me at no cost. I had already sent a quit claim deed to the county but they sent it back rejected but did not tell me what I did wrong. What steps do I need to take to get this done?

Re: transfering names of property

If you're transferring an interest in a parcel of land, now isn't the time to try to do it yourself. Get an attorney.

Second off, I would request that the property owner execute a warranty deed in lieu of a quitclaim. Without see the document, I can't answer as to why the county clerk would reject it.
