Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Texas

Internet Sexual Harrassment/Child Safety

A friend of mine is 29 years old and he likes to get onto the internet and talk to younger guys (guys younger than the age of 18). He talks to them in sexual manners and sometimes even goes to the point of calling them on the phone. He never meets any of the guys or young men, as most are out of state. I have never seen or heard of him doing anything in person, it always happens on the internet or phone. My questions is, does this constitute pedophilia, and can this lead to any legal trouble?

Yes, without being judgmental, this could potentially lead to legal problems--both civil and criminal---depending on the nature of the communications and the ages of the participants. Both federal law and various states' laws could be involved.
