my friend is thinking about marrying a man who has not paid taxes in 2 years. If she marrys him will she owe his back taxes when they find out. Can she go to jail

First, your friend will not go to jail if her future husband has not filed tax returns. The problem is if they file jointly after they are married, the IRS will withhold any refund. She will then have to fight to get it back.
The smartest move would be to have her fiance' speak to a tax lawyer to help him review the situation and file the missing returns.
