Legal Question in Traffic Law in Texas

2 tickets in 2 weeks, should i fight the 2nd one?

I'm 48 and had never had an accident, a ticket, or even a warning until 2 weeks ago. In the past two weeks I got 2 tickets from the SAME COP!

I got the first one for running a red light. I paid it because I figured it's my word against the cop's in traffic court (the intersection just turned yellow before i entered it, but if i would've slammed the brakes to stop i would've stopped in the middle of the intersection and even been rear-ended, had there been a car behind me. i never saw the light turn red while in the intersection)

The second time i got it was for failure to yield when i pulled out of a parking lot. There was nothing to yield to as all the cars on the lane i turned onto were waiting at a red light at an intersection. The light turned green once i was in the lane.

If i would like to view footage recorded by a traffic camera, where would I request it?

Should i contest this second ticket? what are my chances in traffic court? Any tips? Please help and thank you so much.

It's impossible to predict your chances in traffic court, and you will need to file a discovery motion with the court to get a copy of the video. Your chances improve if you are represented by counsel. Concerning this citation, and any future tickets you get, take defensive driving, or apply for deferred -- it keeps a conviction off of your record for points and for insurance.
