Legal Question in Traffic Law in Texas

I was cited a ticket for No Fare on the Dart Rail System couple of months ago. I did not notice that my pass/sticker from El Centro College I.D. had come off. Although some of the stickers from previous semesters were still on the I.D. and after I have tried to explain, the Dart Police still gave me a ticket. I have tried several times to pay online but my name and record does not appear. Until 1 day, I received a notice from Dallas County that I have not payed the fee. I went down to the Justice of the Peace to file a Plea-Docket Hearing, after I found out that they put a wrong last name on my record. It was LADRO instead of LABRO, that is why I couldn't find my records online. It was also wrong-spelled in the citation that the lady issued to me. My question is, do I have a fight for this? or I should just dispose of it by just paying the 200 dollar fine? I can't afford help from a lawyer on the day of my hearing. Thank you very much for your time.

Demand a jury trial. Tell your story to a jury. And tell them then don't HAVE to charge you a $200 fine IF they should find you guilty; they can assess the fine at $5. You don't need a lawyer to do this.

Go down to the JP court to do this.
