Legal Question in Traffic Law in Texas

Ticket for forgetting my wallet home -

The other day I forgot my wallet home and was stopped by a cop for expired pollution check certificate. He ended up giving me a ticket totalling a whopping $500 for not carrying a DL and not being able to furnish proof of financial responsibility (insurance).

I do have a valid DL and Insurance...is there any way I can dismiss the ticket ?

It is illegal to opperate a vehicle without proof of your driver's license on your person; however, most court's will dismiss the citation upon proof that you had a valid DL at the time the citation was issued. The insurance citation will also likely be dismissed upon showing that you were insured when the citationw was issued. A traffic ticket attorney is cheap (compared to the fine) and can help you get these matters resolved.
