Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

So I have to take 4 days off to go sign papers for my sons trust fund created by my girlfriends grandfather. My boss wants to see the papers when I get back as proof that I went for that, and not a vacation. Can he do that? My girlfriend says no because they are confidential, and I am not allowed to really get a hold of them because we are not married. The only reason I need to sign is because I am the father.

Ask the lawyer to prepare a letter excusing you from work. This way, you have independent confirmation that you were needed to sign papers, without showing the actual papers.
