Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

i adopted my grandaughter and she has a trust fund from a birth injury, and i need help on my house payments but the administrator claims the trust can only pay for the child expenses and the house is considered my expense. i live in texas. is this true?

The answer is it depends. There should be a trustee not an administrator of the trust and you should request a copy of the trust instrument or the court order creating it and have your own lawyer review it. It is possible that the response you got is accurate but it is just as possible that it is inaccurate. Lots of trusts have a provision that allows the trustee to pay for a place to live for the beneficiary; however, if you are the parent now, you have an obligation to provide shelter.
