Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

distributee of a will

My brother and I were contacted the other day by a skip trace person from a New York lawyers office. We were told that we were distributees of our fathers estate. He passed away in 2003 in Wisconsin and had no will. We were told we needed to sign paperwork signing over our money to our mother. We are not on the best terms with her, and would like to find out what we're owed. I have contacted her lawyer several times and he refuses to give us any information. We got a lawyer, but now he is not returning our calls. Where do I find information regarding what is at stake here. Thank you so much in advance. We are located in Texas

Re: distributee of a will

Contact a probate attorney in the county where your father resided in Wisconsin to see what you should do. Many will offer a free initial telephone consultation.
