Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

Estate with no will

Both of my parents have passed with the last passing 4 years ago. There were 4 children but only myself and a sister is living. We are the two who have paid the taxes and kept up the house and 24 acres for the past 4 years. Do we have to split the estate with the children of our siblings who have passed even though no one has helped with taxes and up keep? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Estate with no will

Your nephews or nieces are entitled their parents' share. You are entitled to compensation for what you've put into the estate.
