Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

executor of estate

My dad wants me to be executor of his estate (only personal belongings) and he has been living with me for the past 9 years. How do I handle his last banking transactions if he doesn't put me down on paper as executor? If all his insurance policies are in my old name(got remarried) will that make any difference?

Re: executor of estate

If all your father has is personal belongings, a probate is probably not necessary. Change his bank accounts to "right of survivorship" to avoid problems there. Update the beneficiaries on his insurance policies to you new name.
