Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

My father in law is legally married in Texas. He is ill and had has completed his will. He has written that his wife will not have anything as they are separated for many years and court documents reflect neglect to his son years ago from her as well as harassment to his person. He has left everything to his son. Will his wife be able to fight this? He has also listed his son as beneficiary on all policies. Does his wife have any claim since they are still legally married?
