Is Inheritance Considered Part of the Estate After Death?

My father recently passed away leaving a couple credit cards not paid off yet. Someone told me the creditors can come after my fathers estate to get the money they are owed. Is my inheritance considered part of the estate? And am I required to use my inheritance to pay off my fathers credit card bills?

Yes and yes. However, you may want to check and see if he purchased credit life on those cards that would pay them off in the event of his death.

Yes to both. Your "inheritance" is what's left of your father's estate after the bills are paid.
