Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

Judgement and life estate

I have a confessed judgement against a person in VA. I have tried to garnish his wages and he quit and moved out of state. His grandfather died and I think he is listed on the life estate in TX. Can I put a lien against that property? He apparently has no other assets and I am trying to do anything I can. Also, how do I list the judgement with credit reporting agencies?

You can record the judgment in Texas. Be sure you contact his county of residence for requirements. Contact the credit agencies directly to see if you can provide information on the judgment to them. All have websites.

Does your judgment debtor live in TX? You cannot put a lien on his property until you have the out-of-state judgment until it is properly filed in a court in the state of TX. i can do this for you if you want. You can contact me by email.
