Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

my Mother passed away 3-2010,a local attorney took care of the will.the deed was transfered,he shook my hand and said its all done,,over a year later he sends me a letter stating that they have discovered some unpaid bills of mine,and if I dont send them almost$500 that they will take legal action against me,,do I have to pay for thier mistake?

Bills against an estate would not be the lawyer's mistake..and without knowing all the facts
