Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

Opening an Estate in Texas

I am the Personal Rep. of my Aunt's Estate. My Aunt initiated her Will in Maryland. She moved to San Antonio, TX in June of 2002 and died in October 2002. I have exhausted all efforts to obtain information regarding how to open the Estate in Texas. I know she has assets, but I don't know if her daughter is listed on those assets and I have no cooperation from her to proceed with the Estate. In order for me to find out anything, I have to have Letters of Administration which I can't get until I open the Estate! Will anyone help me get started!

Thank you.

Re: Opening an Estate in Texas

You will need the services of a probate lawyer that practices in the San Antonio area. They may need a copy of the will if the original can't or won't be produced.

Unfortunately it's not something you can conveniently do pro se, and particularly not from outside the area.
