The time frame for reporting an injury should be stated in writing in an employee handbook. The consequences for not timely reporting the accident should also be in an employee handbook.

There is no 'legal time" period to report a work accident.

The issue of suspension over not reporting the injury to your employer on the date of injury is a matter of your employee handbook. However, you have 30 days to report the injury to a supervisor for workers' compensation purposes. I write about a lot of this stuff in a blog at www.dallasworkcomp.com
