Legal Question in Workers Comp in Texas

reimbursement medical expenses

I work as a teacher at a private school. While working with my students, I accidentally poked myself in the eye causing a corneal abrasion. The ER visits and Dr. visits total close to $1000 that I can ill-afford. The Dr's office insists that this is a workmen's comp claim. Is it?
