Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Turkey

debts in uk

I have a debt with a bank in the uk but now live in Turkey. Can you tell me what legal actions can be taken out against me if I dont return to the uk. They only have my telephone number here (no address) but they keep phoning me. The amount is about 1500 pounds but I am not working any more - I am a housewife married to a Turkish man.

There are some debt collection agencies and law offices that work internationally in Turkey. So, if you do not pay your debt intentionally it is pretty possible that the bank initiate a legal action againts you in Turkey. In that case you do not only pay the princeple amount of the debt both also you will have to bear the legal expenses, attorney's fee,and the intrest as well.
