Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in United Arab Emirates

Our company has recived faxes from an organization that owes us a trade debt.

One of the fax had an agreed payment date and amount that was to be paid in Nov 2009, however that has not been paid.

We have many faxes from them on admission of liability of debt, however they are now refusing to pay up as per our terms.

We would like to know if the faxes that was sent from their firm on their letterhead addressed to our firm can be distributed to any third party as so we choose. There is no confidentiality statement made on any of their faxes.

As such is there any legal ramfication on us distrubuting their faxes which is addressed to us to whom we choose to?

many thanks

Alex

Dear Mr.Alex,

From the contents of your Query, it would not be possible to categorically advise you whether or not you can distribute the Faxes received by you from the other Company. It would depend on the contents in the said Faxes. Because disclosing any trade secrets to any third party may result in legal ramifications.

So, without perusing the said Faxes, it would be inappropriate to advise you categorically in the matter. For further clarification you may mail to [email protected] or call on 00971 50 2104389.

Best Regards,
