Legal Question in Criminal Law in

I am a Juvenile Prison Officer for boys aged 16-18. On Monday a YP was open up during movement to receive his insulin injection, he had been very abusive towards me during patrol state (lunch break) while the nurse was handing him his injection he told her he was going to get that fucking bitch that had yellow carded him (this is our de merit system), as he had finished saying this I was on the opposite side of the landing unlocking a cell door to let a YP out for movement, he then ran out of the cell (with his injection which he dropped) and jumped me from behind, putting me in a choke hold and holding my hair with the other hand, I felt pain, then realised I could not breath and then blacked out. I have no idea how long it took for the 3 officers to release me, but do know my eyes were blood shot and I was white and shaking. I was made to stay at work for 3hrs afterwards while waiting for the police to turn up to take my statement, however after 3hrs I wanted to go home and was made to take the police number home with me to arrange for them to visit me at home which wasnt for another 3hrs. I am still unable to face going into work and have a very adverse reaction even when calling the prison. This YP had not only told the nurse what he was going to do to me he also said afterwards while behing restrained that he said he was going to get me. He is still at the prison and has threaten another member of staff so is now on a 3 man unlock for staff safety. We are not able to cater for his medical condiction, he is in for a violent crime and by not moving him I feel it has put all staff at risk, as it sends the wrong message to other YP's. Do I have a case against the SMT and Prison Service. I love my job, have done well at it and now feel I can not return to this prison.

Regards
