Legal Question in Immigration Law in United Kingdom

National Insurance Contributions

I am in the process of migrating to Australia and have been paying National Insurance Contributions in the UK for the past 20 years. Will I be able to continue to pay contributions and be able to have a pension transfered to Australia?

Re: National Insurance Contributions

There will be no problem from the Australian side. You can receive money from any source you like, although it will form part of your taxable income and would be taken into account in calculating any social security rights you might have. As to whether the UK authorities will pay it when you are not in that country, you will have to ask a local lawyer about that.
