Legal Question in International Law in United Kingdom
Inheritance Laws
My great grandfather came from the UK and he was heir to a large estate in the UK.
We his family are heirs to to his estate.
A US attorney told us we would need to establish residency in the UK for one year and be represented by an attorney from the UK.
Would it be possible for us to receive our inheritance and not establish residency in the UK?
For instance could we be represented by a lawyer from the UK while still living in the US?

Re: Inheritance Laws
I suspect the legal representation is a separate issue from the residency. You may have to reside in the UK in order to obtain the property. Consult with a UK solicitor.
