Legal Question in Construction Law in Utah

machanics lien

I worked for a contractor who builds homes. The work I've done I have not recieved payment for. it's been past 60 days. Can i still place a lien on the homes and what do I need to do legally to make sure I do it right and still get paid? Or is there another way to help me and my family to get our money?

Re: machanics lien

You have 90 days from the date of the notice of completion or if no notice, 180 days from your last day of work to file your lien. You can also sue the contractor.
