Legal Question in Family Law in Utah

your belongings when kicked out

My life was endangered and my ex kicked me out. I had people hurry to show up to help me grab just clothes. Most of the belongings in the home were mine before we were married. He has already broken quite a bit. How do I get my things or How do I get him to leave my things alone until he will let me get them. We are still married and not legally separated.

Re: your belongings when kicked out

You should try to get a Protective Order if your life was endangered. This would give you the occupancy of the home and he would have to leave instead of you.

First file for a protective order; that order can get you all of your premarital property, and more as you may need.
