my husband is in the army and is leaving for iraq and wants adivorce

He is leaving on Dec. 11, can he give his mother a Power of Attorney to get a divorce from me. She lives in California and I live in Utah. Is this possible?? If so, what can I do about it??

With or without giving the power of attorney, it is possible for him to get a divorce. In Utah it is very easy to get a divorce. There is little that you can do to avoid the divorce, other than delay it - which can be expensive. You would be entitled to child support for any children, and may be entitled to some alimony.
