Legal Question in Family Law in Utah

Paying child support for child unknown

I have a child with a woman who left to washington and never notified me about the child until one month before the baby was one years old, I was wondering if there is a law or something that state's that there is a certain amount of time being notified before i'm held responsible

for paying child support? She has since been remarried and the child has taken the last name of the new husband! How would I go about solving this. since the baby has her husbands last name am I still responsible? is there any way of giving up parental rights being I never knew about her? do you have any advice?

If you are the father, you have to pay child support. You can contest fatherhood through a DNA test. If you want to give up rights to the new husband, you can be released from child support. However, it is up to them to start the stepparent adoption.
