Legal Question in Medical Leave in Utah

Rights under fmla

In dec. 2005 I went out on fmla leave which was approved by my employer for stress. on the day of my return within 7 minutes of my arrival i was called down to the human resources dept and written up for absences which included my approved leave date. In turn I ended up having a massive panic attack in the human resources representative--name removed--office and was sent home that day to ''recoup'' for my next workday. what should i do about this and where should i turn for help?

Re: Rights under fmla

It is unlawful for an employer to take disciplinary action against you for taking leave protected by the FMLA. You may want to consult with an attorney about handling this issue for you and communicating with your employer on this topic. NELA maintains lists of attorneys throughout the country who can help with this type of situation and who are experienced in handling labor and employment law matters.
