Legal Question in Employment Law in Utah

If I was lay off of my job because my boss was fund raising from a business he has during his work hours and by the reason I have never purchased anything from him. He has decided before retiring to lay me off. My question is how should I addressed this problem with the company I worked with in a legally way so I can get my job back?

You would have to be able to prove that he laid you off for the reasons stated. Wrongful termination claims are difficult in that Utah is an employment at will state which means an employer may lay off an employee for no reason at all. There are certain exceptions if you can prove that the employer wrongfully discriminated against you or did something contrary to public policy.
