Police Disciplinary Produres

Can a Police Department charge Officers money for car accidents they are involved in while on duty and in city owned vehicles. It seems to me they could pursue a disciplinary action such as days off without pay, but taking money from the employee seems wrong.

It depends on the written policies of the police department, and whether the officer was given notice of the policy.
