Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Utah

My husband settled a debt with Chase on a credit card debt. He was the only one on the credit card, my name showed nowhere on the account at all. But yesterday I had my credit Report pulled and found that they has attached the same debt and settlement to my credit. So, my 700 plus credit score had become a 500 plus credit score. Is there anything I can do legally to them?? I would like to sure them for hurting my credit so badly

If a judgment was rendered against you and your husband you would have to set aside the judgment first.

If there is no judgment, but the Chase and/or collection company listed your name, then the report is false and you can sue to correct it. However, before you sue, file a complaint with the three credit reporting agencies and explain to them the problem. This may remove the negative credit without a lawsuit.
