Legal Question in Personal Injury in Utah

ciling a continuance

my lawyer recently withdrew from my case leaving scrambling to find another lawyer. I was given a 20 day notice to appear with replacement counsel. How do I file a motion for continuance to extend this 20 days? I feel I need at least 60 days to find a suitable replacement.

Re: ciling a continuance

Copy the heading on other motions, replace your name for the lawyers at the top left; and inside the left box type "Motion for Extension of Time" and then type below your request. You can also enter your own appearance until you get counsel, which is the preferred procedure. Entering your own appearance means you get notice of all pending actions. You have to send copies of all correspondence to the court and other attorneys or parties if there are non represented parties.

You may call for a free consultation.
