Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Utah

changing a home deed after death of spouse

hello, I am asking for my Dad. His home was in my mothers name and she died about 6 yrs ago. My Dad has paid all taxes and house pymnts and did not worry about changing the deed to his name. It was originally in his name and my mother had hime put it in her name. SO how can he have it changed back over to him? He has 2 step daughters that want him to have the home because it was originally his anyways. Thanks

You will have to file probate to get the court to transfer title. You may call for a free consultation.

If the home is only in Mom's name, and she has passed away, Dad will need to file a probate and get title transferred.
