Legal Question in Tax Law in Utah

Employee Taxes

My construction company, an LLC, went under and I owe around $8000 in employee taxes. I filed the articles of disolution and am curious if I am liable to pay these. Is there any way the IRS can come after me?

Re: Employee Taxes

You could be liable for a trust fund recovery penalty that gets imputed to certain "responsible persons" like business owners, officers of corporations, etc. This penalty is generally always incurred after a business is through. Since I don't know what the IRS has sent you I'm not sure this is what they are after. But it sounds like it to me. If you would like me to take a look at the notices you received to give you a better assessment, I would be happy to do it. Regards,
